Another Dimension (3-D)

Because this picture has been painted onto a 3 dimensional structure and by painting the perspective in reverse the whole picture turns itself round making the bottom of the pyramid that is furthest away from you, look like it is closest to you. This is a trick of the brain confusing the perspective with the 3D structure of the canvas. The special effect you get when looking at this picture is that when you move across the front of it the whole picture seems to move with you. With a mix of well known art on the walls and my children figures it shows where art starts and what can be achieved.

There are many images that I paint that have taken me back to my childhood. Some are full of pathos whilst others are hysterically funny; and some like this - everyday scenes that mean nothing to the onlooker but mean many things to the ‘One Man & His Dog.’ This painting depicts my old friends who were extremely hard working, family men who hardly ever had time for themselves. So to be able to simply go for a quiet walk deep in thought, with their faithful friend by their side must have meant the world to them.
