Some months ago Breeze art galleries commissioned one of our favourite Scottish artists, John Mackie, to create some original art work of the Scottish borders town where we opened our very first gallery; Peebles.  Of course, since that time we now have galleries in Edinburgh in Jenners, Glasgow in House of Frasers and at Loch Lomond Shores.

John Mackie managed to produce in these original paintings wonderfully evocative scenes of the borders town which have been admired wherever they’ve been shown.

We talked about the launch of the stunning new collection by Scottish artist, Alexander Millar, at the start of June where breeze was delighted to be able to offer two footballs, signed by the artist himself, to raise money for http://www.borderschildrenscharity.org.uk/. At that time the first of these prized items had already been sold and raised over £700 for this worthwhile charity.

It gives us great pleasure to announce the winner of the second football signed by Alex Millar himself.  The lucky recipient of this and an original Alexander Millar signed sketch is Mr. Gordon Noble.  Congratulations to you and everyone here at breeze hopes that you enjoy these two unique pieces of art work.

Here in the UK we are enjoying a wonderful spell of warm, summer weather which is something that is especially appreciated after such a long, harsh winter!  Many of our customers have been visiting us in the galleries in Peebles, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Loch Lomond Shores with the express aim of investing in a piece of art or furniture that will further brighten up their homes.

Breeze Art Gallery in Peebles are inviting children from Primary 1 to senior students at Peebles High School to take part in an exhibition they are running in conjunction with The Peebles Arts Festival and The Exhibition Trail.

Breeze are asking the children what living in the Borders means to them or what does the Beltane mean to them and asking them to tell their story in a painting or drawing.

This is an exciting opportunity to encourage the arts in our children and also to encourage our children to express themselves in different ways.

Please let the gallery know if you would like your child to participate. All entrants must be on an A4 sheet of paper with the child’s` name, school and class printed clearly on the back, and the closing date for accepting the entries in the gallery is Friday 2nd July 2010.

Winners will be announced and entries will be displayed in the gallery on Saturday 18th August and there will be a window dedicated to the children’s work during the week of the Peebles Arts Festival and the Exhibition Trail.

We will split the entrants into appropriate age categories. For winners in the older groups, a master class will be arranged with a top UK artist.

Younger category winners will receive a fabulous painting kit courtesy of Breeze.

And who knows, maybe one of these talented youngsters will go on to to create such wonderful, original art work as that of Alexander Millar, Bob Dylan, Rolf Harris or Fabian Perez

A recent visit by John Mackie to the breeze head office was an exciting event as John was delivering 6 outstanding original pastels, three small artworks depicting scenes from Glasgow and Edinburgh, two scenes from Venice and an avenue scene from Montpelier, France.

These wonderful original works of art are currently being framed and will be appearing in all galleries in the next week or so. The breeze gallery in Glasgow is now only four weeks away for the first ever Rolf Harris event. Gallery manager Gordon Mackie stated that he has seen constant requests for Rolf Harris art work since opening in October last year, but this coming event where we will have all his latest collection of signed limited editions along with rare and very collectable originals on display.

Many of the signed limited editions by Rolf Harris are near to sell out already so any collectors should make contact with the gallery as soon as they can to avoid disappointment. Following a personal appearance by Fabian Perez at the breeze Glasgow gallery the amount of enquiries for Fabian’s work has continued with no let up.

Pictured above are some examples of Fabian’s evocative art work, currently available as limited edition prints. Breeze have recently acquired some rare original oils which can be seen upon request. Following the outstanding turnout at the breeze event the artists manager stated the breeze and the Glasgow public have illustrated that there is big demand for Fabians work.

The breeze gallery is delighted to announce that Steve is now well on the way to recover following his motorbike accident earlier this year. The breeze gallery art director Bob Corsie commented; “Steve’s work has always sold well in our galleries and we are really pleased at the news that Steve is inching closer to full recovery week on week and hopes to be painting again soon”.

Bob Corsie, Managing Director of the breeze galleries, had a wonderful time last year when he was lucky enough to go and see Bob Dylan at the Edinburgh Playhouse.

The great man is on tour again but is unable to play live in Scotland this time round. His only UK appearance is at the Hop Farm Festival in Kent on July 3rd.

Exciting news: breeze gallery have secured a stunning collection of new and exciting originals painted by Philip Raskin.

The stunning collection of over twenty originals is sure to create an amazing display for his coming appearance this weekend.

Born in Glasgow Philip has been selling his art in Scotland for many years, but following a career in the restaurant and pub trade Philip is now focused totally on his art. Bob Corsie breeze art director stated; “I believe Philip s work is going form strength to strength, his technique is truly amazing with his creative use of thick layered oils which convey the motion and textures of the sea and rocky landscaped which he paints.”

Our gallery manager in Peebles recently had the pleasure talking to a couple who were on holiday in Scotland from Belgium.  They had been traveling through Scotland and discovered the breeze art gallery on the way back to Edinburgh airport.  The couple instantly fell in love with the range of originals, limited edition prints and sculptures that breeze had to offer and especially with Scottish artist, Alexander Millar.

The team at breeze used our art search programme to source the perfect Alexander Millar original pencil sketch; “Let’s Fly”.

After contacting the couple back home in Belgium, our customer was able to present this fantastic original art work for his wife’s birthday.
