Breeze are delighted to be welcoming Bob Harper and his collection of work into all our galleries over November and December.
Bob’s fantastic collection of unique portraits contains some of the music industry’s most famous faces including Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Keith Richards and many more.
His paintings are unique in both style and technique with each portrait featuring song lyrics by the musician and other associated text, adding an extra element of style to these amazing pieces of work.
Monet painted Rouen Cathedral so many times in different lights and weather conditions, so I see no reason for not re-working old faves like this. It’s impossible to draw a line in pencil twice identically, never mind produce a painting exactly the same. I’ve tilted Keith’s head to exaggerate his quizzical thoughtfulness (“which tree’s next for me to tip out of?”) Subtleties like that change everything about the painting as it creates a different negative shape on the left, so a big white arrow points into the focal area. You don’t need to read his book to realise this is one of life’s immense presences because one look informs the viewer, but I’d recommend it to anyone (Stones fan or not). On his face are a few quotes to give a flavour of how this great creature views the planet.

Cezanne painted Mont Saint-Victoire over 60 times and Monet did haystacks till they all got pissed off and went to the loft, so I see no reason for not re-working old faves like this. It’s impossible to write your name twice identically, never mind construct a painting exactly. This one is a soft take with a breeze coming in on a balmy day. On his face I have used some biographical info and some quotes which give clues to the man’s ideas and qualities. Behind one nearly opaque lens a dark eye weighs up the immature planet he’s landed on and would depart within a decade.

Title: We Are All Neil Lennon Artist: Bob Harper Image Size: 58cm x 43cm Framed Size: 81cm x 66cm Medium: Limited Edition Edition Size: 195 Framed Price: £450.00
Neil Lennon was always a player I would have fancied in my team. Always where the ball was, wherever you looked he was in the action. It’s a basic principle of the game that you need the ball, and he was THE guy who invariably achieved that task for the Hoops. His fitness must have been incredible. In management he is undergoing awkward times so early in his career, but one look at those steely eyes and no-messing features suggests he can ride the storm.
The Celtic fans urge him on as they recognise he is one of them with their legendary call. “WE ARE ALL NEIL LENNON.”

Ronnie Wood was born in 1947 in Middlesex, England, into a musical and artistic family. Before beginning his musical career he received formal art training at Ealing College of Art, London.
Throughout the years, the artist and the musician have been inseparable. As his musical career progressed, Ronnie continued his passion for painting and drawing; his subjects ranging from band members and musicians he admired, knew and sometimes played with, to family and close friends’ and of course, the self-portrait. It is as natural to find him with a pencil as with a guitar, drawing portraits of contemporaries and finding inspiration from his musical influences.
In America in the early 1980s, Ronnie produced his first prints three woodcuts and a series of monotypes. At that time he was not yet an experienced printmaker and it was with great enthusiasm that he seized upon the opportunity in 1987 to spend several months working in a professional printmaking studio in England. Since then he has devoted a considerable amount of time to printmaking, producing a number of images using various techniques etching, dry-point, screen-print and woodcut.
Over the years Ronnie Wood¹s work has been widely exhibited. In 1996, he had a retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, Sao Paulo, Brazil. His work has been honoured with numerous solo exhibitions in North and South America, in the Far East and throughout Europe.
Wood has been painting and sketching ever since he was a child and is a passionate and dedicated artist, taking inspiration from artists such as Egon Schiele, Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. Nowadays Wood is adept at creating pieces from landscapes, to portraiture, abstract to architectural; creating his original pieces in charcoals, oils, watercolours, spray paints, oil pastels and acrylics. Varying his style and his medium depending on the feeling or mood he is trying to evoke with his work.
His debut collection for Washington Green Fine Art features four pieces entitled The Famous Flames Suite, focusing on the members of The Rolling Stones. And a fifth piece entitled Stones on Stage – Got Me Rockin’.
There is no kind of therapy like the one you have from starting and seeing a picture through to the end.

On Saturday 22nd October Breeze are delighted to be exhibiting the new collection of art from rock ‘n’ roll legend Ronnie Wood.
Although Ronnie is probably best known for his musical career with the Jeff Beck Group, The Faces and The Rolling Stones, his passion for art began at a young age and he first painted when has was just 12 years old, before going on to study at the Ealing college of art.
Ronnie’s new collection of signed limited edition art is sure to be popular amongst his fans and collectors alike and we look forward to welcoming you to our galleries to view this fantastic collection.
The Ronnie Wood Collection will be first on display over the weekend of the 22/23 October at our Jenners gallery.
Breeze are delighted to be launching the new collection from London born artist Robert Lenkiewicz in our Glasgow gallery this weekend (Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th October 2001).
Our wonderful new collection of his work includes five of his limited editions on both board and paper which are all inspired by his St.Anthony theme.
After attending St Martin’s College of Art and Design and the Royal Academy, Lenkiewicz pursued an independent course as a painter, largely uninfluenced by contemporary art fashions. He welcomed a stream of colourful characters in his life who inspired his large painting projects on such social issues as addiction, homelessness and suicide.
This wonderful collection will be in our Glasgow gallery in Frasers throughout the weekend.
Robert Lenkiewicz was a natural outsider and radical, consciously at odds with contemporary thinking on ethical and aesthetic issues. Nevertheless, a huge cross section of society was attracted by his charismatic personality, his generosity and his great gift as an artist.
Lenkiewicz was born in London in 1941, the son of Jewish refugees. He spent his childhood in the hotel in Cricklewood run by his parents, whose elderly residents included a number of survivors of the concentration camps. His social conscience was awakened early by these refugees, and many of them feature in his first paintings.
His ironic study of relationships in The Painter With Women broke with his usual practice of showing work in his own studios, He exhibited many of the paintings from this project at the Birmingham International Convention Centre in 1994. More than 35,000 people visited the exhibition in a single week.
For Lenkiewicz, the act of painting was a profoundly moving experience. His main aim was to capture the transient and emotional qualities of his subject and he left a unique and hauntng legacy.
