In this eerie moonlit landscape, a solitary tree bleached by moonlight, glows in the night.
This tree is known locally as ‘The Ghost Tree.’ Legend states that a highwayman was hanged for his crimes from its branches, and at full moon his body can be heard swinging in the night air.
Although the farmer has cut down the other trees and hedges, this one is left alone amidst the fields as it is said that the highwayman will haunt whoever destroys the tree.
