A stunning collection of sculptures by Lorenzo Quinn (son of the famous Hollywood actor Anthony Quinn and acclaimed artist in his own right) will be touring the Breeze galleries this winter.
First Love depicts the fragile and poignant moment that two hands touch.
The obvious influence of Rodin can also be felt in Trust, which conveys a beautiful sense of affection and tenderness and this echoes in Lorenzo’s words ‘I don’t believe in purely decorative works. It must transmit emotions; it must say something to me and the people that observe it’.
This poetic description the Quinn makes of his work, which will be in further evidence at the events, is in keeping with other respected artists, such as Ian Hamilton Findlay. These events promise to be a thought provoking experience not to be missed.

Please join Breeze at the 5th annual Edinburgh Art Fair, from Friday the 20th of November until Sunday the 22nd of Nov, at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange (11 Newmarket Road, EH14 1RJ).

At the grand old age of 85, Art D’Lugoff, the owner of The Village Gate nightclub, died on Nov. 4th, 2009.
Decades of booking some of the greatest jazz artists for concerts at the Gate were not without error. The legendary Bob Dylan was turned away during his formative years in the Big Apple.
The link between jazz and art has long been understood. Bob Dylan’s bold, creative style makes an honest, working man’s appraisal of the world he sees. The artist’
s distinctive style is fully evident in the cool collectible series, Drawn Blank. A few remaining limited edition prints from the series, signed by the artist, are still available for sale online at breeze.
Other artists at Breeze explore the powerful medium of music in their art. For example, Rob Ford’
s fluid and lyrical Indian ink sketches sing with immediacy and energy. The preparation for these works is lengthy and thoughtful but the end result must be recited in one effortless act, much like a musical performance. The obvious relevance of artists such as Jackson Pollock and Paul Kenton (who uses a screw driver to drip paint onto the canvas) needs no further elaboration. And it will surprise few to learn that Rob Ford is a skilled Jazz musician.
