Paresh Nrshinga

Paresh was born in Kenya in 1966 and at the tender age of three he moved to England. From an early childhood, Paresh was already absorbing colours, movements and sounds, transforming them into expressions and motions on his sketchbook.

Having studied at Leicester Polytechnic, Paresh ventured on a journey of self-discovery. Being predominantly self-taught, his style has been influenced by artists such as Pollock, Warhol, Klimt and Picasso. Fascinated by their large canvas work, his paintings reflect his flirtation with abstract expressionism.

Paresh is a versatile and sensitive painter. His extensive travels around the world combined with his deep spirituality influence his inspiring paintings, demonstrating the depth of his talent. Through his passion for music he developed a unique flair of transferring and transforming the energy of sound onto the canvas in the form of colour and movement.

Paresh has exhibited widely throughout Europe, North America and Dubai, featuring in many private and corporate collections worldwide. His work is collected by those involved in the music, drama and sports arena, and has been used in numerous lifestyle magazines.

Lawrie Williamson

Lawrie Williamson was born in 1932 and educated in Derbyshire. At the age of 16 he won a major exhibition prize to study at Notingham College of Art. This led Lawrie to further his studies at Nottingham University and ultimately at L’Ecole des Beauz Arts, in Paris.

Lawrie’s subjects can vary widely from canvas to canvas, and are drawn from a lifetime of experience and observation. However a single factor is common to all his paintings, the use of light. Whether it be a smokey pub interior, bonfire night, flying kites on the beach or stunning views of Venice, each painting is underpinned with light that comes alive off the canvas.

Throughout his career, Lawrie’s talents have been widely recognised. He is a past winner of the Stanley Grimm Prize at the Annual Exhibition of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He can also list the Canson Prize at the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists to his many achievments.

“Keep a cool head and always carry a light bulb.” Well, he always has had a uniquely outsider way of expressing himself, and his words are not pre-meditated. George Harrison & the other Wilburys were constantly amazed at recording sessions when Bob would re-run a verse in countless versions, without thought or rehearsal. He seemed to be channelling the words from an outer source, and he was merely acting as the vehicle of delivery. I think that’s how it really works, but we have to forget all the stuff, all that propaganda we’ve been fed. We need to be very open to possibilities and prepared to really open ourselves up.

This image is from the “Highway 61″ sessions… sessions that enriched my secondary school years, and found me badgering English teachers to get Dylan installed in our syllabus. “They’re selling postcards of the hanging….”

Description

Bruce at 61, three months younger than me. Our lives have run in tandem with 3,000 miles between us. When I was playing in the woods as a kid, chances are he’d have been doing the same. We stared out of different school windows on the same days, dreaming about our futures. We both left home that Wednesday in 1962 wondering if we’d see our parents again… Jack & Mr. K. saw to it that we did, but it was very scary! I have felt an affinity because of our birth year.

He’s staring down the world with immense power in his eyes. He’s from a blue collar family in New Jersey, knows (and remembers) all about the difficulties all of us have to endure. On interview he is the most eloquent of his generation, and surpassed himself at Clarence’s eulogy when he spoke so truthfully about the Big Man.

Seems sad to do a painting just after she passed away. Truth to tell, I’d been on the verge for months because of her outrageous talent and fantastic looks. In hind sight I should have anticipated she would leave us at the “rock star age” of 27, but who could believe that! I’ve painted her with that famous look, dark, brooding, confused and disillusioned with this world. How ironic that she appeared to be on the way to some kind of recovery according to her splendid Dad, but perhaps it is an unwritten law that genius goes hand in hand with chaotic lifestyle… who knows?

Some fabulous quotes and markers from her brief life are ghosted over her dramatic features..”I’m not a lesbian, until I’ve had a sambuca anyway”

Description

Gered Mankowitz took a brilliant series of photographs in February of 1967. Three “smoking” shots against a thunder grey background have become so iconic during our lives, that I have painted several images from them.

Soon after he arrived in England, the Rolling Stones dandy (Brian Jones) took Jimi to “Granny Takes A Trip” (a trendy boutique on the King’s Road. Jimi loved the idea of dipping into girl’s clothes as a crossover (scarves & brooches) and carried off military jackets with some panache, so he took the icon’s image into a new level. Here he is, blowing a wispy cloud at the Establishment.

Todd White

Todd White’s stylish and distinctive figurative artwork has won him an international reputation that keeps on growing. His paintings captivate people, often invoking laughter and always demanding repeated viewings. By revealing his subjects’ innermost feelings, he creates timeless scenes of attraction and intimacy. Beneath the exaggerated features and textured skin of his characters there is a truth that we can all recognise – both theirs and ours.

Todd is a compulsive observer of detail, always studying and absorbing figures, faces and features. He spends his life people-watching – scribbling down sketches whatever the situation (often on napkins or even tablecloths) to record an idea for his next work. While his subjects come from everyday life, his perspective is so unusual that he alters the way we perceive people and the roles we play around each other. He studies body language, using its nuances to capture the subtleties of what we show and what we hide.

Born in 1969 in Texas, he Todd relocated to Hollywood in his twenties and worked in animation, developing characters at some of the most renowned production studios in the country. He was even part of the lead team for the international hit cartoon series SpongeBob SquarePants. During this period Todd started to forge his artistic style by experimenting with colours and concepts. He eventually arrived at the working method that now guides him through every piece. He always names his pieces first, visualises faces and personalities, then develops each person’s story. In fact, he doesn’t paint at all until he can conceptually see that story in his head. And he always tells it as directly as possible – what isn’t necessary to the story does not go on the canvas.

Hands are a focal point as he hass always been impressed by how powerfully and expressively tiny gestures can amplify an actor’s performance. ”Everyone’s hands are full of personality,”‘ says Todd, “They reflect the subject’s state of mind almost as much as facial expressions.”

Todd was chosen from hundreds of artists as the Official Artist of the GRAMMY® Awards in 2007, the world’s most prestigious music event. In 2009, he was invited by Warner Bros. to contribute to a major design exhibition celebrating the 70th Anniversary of The Wizard of Oz. Following a string of record-breaking shows in the UK, Todd returned to the US to even greater acclaim, and has become one of the world’s most collectable and successful living artists.

News : Bob Harper Limited Editions

Last weekend saw the new Bob Harper limited editions displayed in public for the first time. These fantastic pieces were displayed during the Scottish Homes & Interiors exhibition at the SECC, Glasgow.

The limited editions received a great reception from collectors and Breeze are delighted to announce that there will be new additions to the collection in the coming weeks and that these will appear on our website very soon! Our current collection can be seen below.

NEW Limited Editions & words from Bob Harper

Lennon In ShadesCezanne painted Mont Saint-Victoire over 60 times and Monet did haystacks till they all got pissed off and went to the loft, so I see no reason for not re-working old faves like this. It’s impossible to write your name twice identically, never mind construct a painting exactly. This one is a soft take with a breeze coming in on a balmy day. On his face I have used some biographical info and some quotes which give clues to the man’s ideas and qualities. Behind one nearly opaque lens a dark eye weighs up the immature planet he’s landed on and would depart within a decade.

View Lennon In Shades

Pensive KeithMonet painted Rouen Cathedral so many times in different lights and weather conditions, so I see no reason for not re-working old faves like this. It’s impossible to draw a line in pencil twice identically, never mind produce a painting exactly the same. I’ve tilted Keith’s head to exaggerate his quizzical thoughtfulness (”which tree’s next for me to tip out of?”) Subtleties like that change everything about the painting as it creates a different negative shape on the left, so a big white arrow points into the focal area. You don’t need to read his book to realise this is one of life’s immense presences because one look informs the viewer, but I’d recommend it to anyone (Stones fan or not). On his face are a few quotes to give a flavour of how this great creature views the planet.

View Pensive Keith

We Are All Neil LennonComing to live in Glasgow at a relatively late stage in life, I confess to being dumbstruck by all the antics surrounding the Old Firm and religion. I have always loved football but never had the opportunity to experience an Old Firm game until… I don’t suppose there’ll be another like it for some time to come, but I sure was caught up in the high voltage craziness of that night at Parkhead when 3 Rangers men were sent off. A concrete stand moving Kyoto fault line style! Neil Lennon was always a player I would have fancied in my team. Always where the ball was, wherever you looked he was in the action. It’s a basic principle of the game that you need the ball, and he was THE guy who invariably achieved that task for the Hoops. His fitness must have been incredible. In management he is undergoing awkward times so early in his career, but one look at those steely eyes and no-messing features suggests he can ride the storm. The Celtic fans urge him on as they recognise he is one of them with their legendary call. “WE ARE ALL NEIL LENNON.”

He will be returning in what will be the largest collection of his outstanding new originals and limited editions ever seen in Scotland. This unique event will be taking in Glasgow’s iconic architectural building, ‘The Lighthouse’.

Interest for this event is expected to high, especially as Fabian was recently chosen as one of the official artists for the 2012 London Olympics as well as being named the official artist to the Latin Grammy Awards.
