“Smokey Keef”

Here my hero is doing a Colonel Gadaffi impression. Painted just before Libya went crazy (power to the people!) I was tempted to paint in a few camels in the background. Do you know the mad bugger won’t visit hotels if they don’t take in his camels. Hence, when the New York Plaza declined his request, Donald Trump put the entire circus up in one of his upstate piles.

I’m getting very partial to using stop-out parallel lines. This is undoubtedly because I loved that brown wrapping paper from my youth. I have a list of nostalgic items from the 50s and 60s, but that paper is high on the list. I used to carry liver and kidneys from the butcher in my village in it, and I can tell you it was not designed for that. I have it to thank for making me vegetarian.
