I’ve re-arranged Richard Avedon’s iconic photograph of the Beatles in this painting. It’s done on Bread & Butter paper to allow frantic scrubbing with Brillo and rough sandpaper. At the end a black pencil being rolled to vary line thickness attempts to achieve the cracking you get in old frescoes. The Fab 4 live at the Napoli Amphitheatre, under the rumbling shadow of Vesuvius, hammering out “The End” as the fireballs hailed down.
Let your imagination free up.. it’s fun and beats the shit out of Soaps, X-Factor, the News etc.
