Govinder Nazran 1964 - 2008
It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic death of one of the country's greatest contemporary artists - Govinder Nazran.

Govinder died on Tuesday 30th December after an accident on Christmas Day which left him with severe head injuries.

It is our intention to commemorate the incredible talent that was Govinder to support his family, details to follow in the next few weeks.

2009 would have been Govinder's tenth anniversary of working as an commercial artist, a decade of the most amazing and creative art from one of the most talented, gentle and innovative artists we have ever had the pleasure of working with.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. - 06/01/2009

breeze gallery rustles up bovine surprise
COWS from the world famous CowParade have moooved to the Borders after being rustled by a Peebles art gallery.
The bovines visited the breeze stores in Peebles High Street to raise awareness of the charity VETAID.
The life-size fibreglass creatures were part of a 100-strong herd which grazed on the streets of Edinburgh during the summer as part of the internationally famous CowParade arts event.

The cows are now being auctioned off and Breeze gallery owner Bob Corsie lassoed the pair in an effort to raise money for VETAID and bring a splash of colour to Peebles.

The CowParade pair were an apt choice for breeze which this week (Sept 8/9) welcomes internationally renowned animal artist Paul James as he launches his first Scottish exhibition.

breeze have pulled off a coup by showcasing Paul’s sought after originals and he will be on hand to speak about his latest work, JOCK, which is a unique study of a traditional “heilan’ coo”.

For a Ł1 donation, the gallery are giving customers the chance to win a framed limited edition Paul James print with all proceeds going to the VETAID charity.

Gallery owner, Bob Corsie, said: “CowParade was a stunning success and brought art to many thousands of people in a fun way. We were offered the chance to bring some of the cows to Peebles and hope it has brightened up the High Street while raising money for a worthwhile cause.

“It was also great timing as we are preparing for an exclusive exhibition featuring some of the best works of Paul James who has a unique skill for painting farm animals.

Artist Paul James said he was looking forward to visiting Peebles for the first time.

He said: “I have always had an affinity with Scotland through my interest in Highland cattle, which I have painted since I started out as a professional artist back in 1986. I am very proud of my latest piece, JOCK, and where better to show him for the first time other than the Scottish Borders?”
